Our Goal

Welcome!!!
I'm Melissalyn and this is my journey.  I am your average working mom.  I work out of necessity like many mothers these day.  Though if I had a choice, I would stay home with my family. Like many, I live on a tight budget.  I coupon and stock pile when I can. I don't buy organic unless it is on sale or I have a coupon. I spend way more than I should on take-out and fast food. My crockpot is my best friend.  I have a vegetable and herb garden in my backyard in the summer. My family enjoys watching and feeding the wildlife that wanders through our yard.  My house isn't always spotless, it's okay if you don't take your shoes off at the door. My home is lived in and it shows at times. Though my family is happy and that is really what matters most to me.

Welcome to my home!

I always say I live in a bubble.  I don't really care much about what goes on in the world.  I'm not into politics or the environment.  I can careless what the neighbors are doing.  My family is the most important thing.  As long as my life is in balance and my family is happy, I'm good.  When the outside world starts to effect my family and disrupt my life, then it becomes important to me and I take notice.
Since having my son, I am more conscious of the world around me.  I am very distraught by the decline in the family unit, the lack of extended family and the demise of community neighborhoods.  I am not happy with what the world is offering my son.  I want so much more for him.  So, I have decided to Live Yesterday Today and give my son some of the simple things I had as a child. I want my son to have clean air to breath, fresh water to drink and green grass to run and play in.  I want him to have healthy food choices that aren't going to make him sick.  I want him to have the security of a family that loves him unconditionally as well as friends that he can always rely on. I want to give my son the world.  Unfortunately the world is not what I remember.  So I am out to create the world I want for my son.  I invite you to join me on my journey as I try to Live Yesterday Today in an effort to provide a better future for my son.

  1. I love this concept! It's so true that when we grew up the world was a very different place! Thanks for bringing us all back to the GOOD things of yesterday! :-)
